Last Swim Meet of the 2009-2010 Season :(

April 23rd and 24th were the days of my curtain call in swimming. 4 months of painstaking practices were finally going to be paid off in Seoul Foreign School. Moreover, swimming with the same people for 4 months and going over the same hardships together connects a special bond between the KIS swim team. Therefore, the circumference in the bus to SFS was very caring and a bit weird (^^;;). The championship congregated all the events into a two-day meet, so there were more chances to swim, which means more chances for breaking records. My purpose for swimming was to break the 50 and 100 meter breast stroke time, and I am only 1 second off the school record. I couldn’t imagine how good it would feel to put 2 of my names in the white board on the way to the swimming pool :). Furthermore, I was assigned 5 events to swim: 50 breast, 100 breast, 100 free, medley relay, and free relay. I even prepared a red bull sponsored by Austin Choi for my medley relay team. Among the events I had to swim, 50 and 100 breast were the highlights of the meet; Friday, 50 breast; Saturday, 100 breast. The first day of the meet was quiet disappointing; my 50 breast record was 0.2 seconds away from the school record:(. Despite the fact I beat my personal record, I was not in the good mood. Fortunately, there was Saturday left with the 100 breast meet. After the first half of the meet in Friday, Seung-woo (most respected swimmer in KIS) honorably bought us sam-gyup-sal to gain strength for Saturday. The second half of the championship was intense. I could feel the passion and desire to break records by all the swimmers in the pool. I eventually felt devastated due to the 0.3 seconds for the 100 breast, but I still saw hope for a great season next year. GREAT JOB TO ALL KIS SWIMMERS! ONCE A TEAM IS A TEAM FOREVER!
